Autumn leaves of Hōkongō-in Temple

Hōkongō-in is a historic Buddhist temple located in Kyoto, Japan. Founded in 1130 by Emperor Toba, it is often referred to as the “Temple of the Sacred Lotus” because of its stunning lotus garden. The temple is part of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism.

The highlight of Hōkongō-in is its beautiful garden, which was designed in the Heian period. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers, especially the lotus blossoms in summer, which create a serene and picturesque atmosphere.
