Taizo-in is a historic sub-temple of Myoshin-ji in Kyoto, founded in 1404. It is famous for its beautiful Zen gardens, including a dry landscape garden and a scenic pond garden. Visitors can experience traditional Japanese culture and peaceful surroundings, making it a popular spot for exploring Zen Buddhism.
The temperature has suddenly dropped, and we can now feel the arrival of true winter.
It seems it’s time to let go of our attachment to autumn and face the winter season.
Yesterday, I decided to conclude this year’s autumn foliage photography. The last shooting spot I chose was Taizoin Temple at Myoshinji.
The Taizoin garden has been a place of photographic training for me.
After finishing my life in Singapore and returning to Kyoto, I have continued to photograph the Taizoin garden through all four seasons.
It’s been 24 years since then. When I photograph the Taizoin garden, I naturally find myself returning to the mindset of a beginner.
