This winter has been colder than usual, causing the plum blossoms to bloom about two weeks later than expected. Still, longing to feel the signs of spring, I took my camera and headed to the plum grove at Nijo Castle.
The plum grove at Nijo Castle is home to a variety of plum trees, including red and white blossoms, which fill the air with a sweet fragrance when in full bloom. Although most of the buds were still closed this time, some flowers had already begun to bloom, standing resilient against the winter cold—a truly impressive sight.
As the weather warms up, more blossoms will open, making the gardens of Nijo Castle even more vibrant. I look forward to visiting again at peak bloom and capturing the full beauty of spring’s arrival.
