“Awo Hitokusa” (Sōsei) is a poetic term referring to the multitude of people living in this world — the nameless, humble lives of the common people.
「あをひとくさ(蒼生)」とは、この世に生きる多くの人々、つまり民衆や庶民を意味する。

Ceramic doll artist based in Kyoto.
1989: Graduated from the Department of Sculpture, Kyoto City University of Arts
1998: Held her first group exhibition in Xalapa, Mexico; has since participated in numerous exhibitions in various locations
2010: Held her first solo exhibition “Amatsukaze” at Takashimaya Art and Craft Salon (Kyoto)
2012: Selected for the “Young Kyoto Traditional Industry Designers Dispatch Program to Italy”; exhibited at the International Handicrafts Trade Fair (ARTI-GIANATO 2012) in Florence
2014: Awarded the Kyoto Mayor’s Prize at the 36th Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki Exhibition
