Heisei Onnaboko Sayanekai is a group of female performers associated with the Gion Matsuri, one of Japan’s most famous festivals held in Kyoto. The Gion Bayashi is the traditional festival music played during the procession of floats (yamaboko) in the Gion Matsuri. This music, characterized by its distinct rhythms and melodies played on flutes, drums, and gongs, is essential in creating the vibrant atmosphere of the festival.
