🏠 Mission: Create new value, not just fix it

Kyoto's "Kyomachiya" is more than just an old house. It is a living art filled with the spirit of respect for nature and community ties. But now, this wonderful technique is about to disappear.

In this project, we welcome you not as a tourist, but as a partner in creating the future together. Together with professional craftsmen, using authentic tools, we will breathe new life into the city of Kyoto. You don't have to have experience in construction, just a desire to try.

🛠 What you will experience

• Real Kyoto Life You will live in a beautifully renovated machiya (townhouse) and experience real Kyoto life with the locals.
• Learning from the Pros You will learn traditional Japanese carpentry and other skills directly on site. Beginners are also welcome!
• Give shape to your ideas! Share new ideas that you can see because you are from North America. Together we can come up with a style that mixes tradition and modernity.
• Certificate of completion awarded At the end of the program, you will receive an official certificate as a "Kyomachiya Cultural Fellow.
